I have been a member of the Barretts family since 1991 when I started as a salesman. I am proud to have progressed through the ranks at Barretts and I am now the General Manager of both of our store locations - in Naperville and Algonquin. Having entered the audio/video industry towards the tail end of the rack system and console TV days, I have seen the evolution of the business as the industry has taken a turn into a much more sophisticated era. With Barretts as a member of CEDIA (Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association) and HTSA (Home Theater Specialists of America), I have been through dozens of advanced training courses conducted by the industries highest-level professionals. Along with these trainings I have had the privelage of attending various offsite manufacturers courses indluding Runco Academy, McIntosh McMasters, and B&W factory training in the UK. My job at Barretts Home Theater is to bring that experience and magic into your home.

Directly after graduating with my Bachelors of Arts Degree in December of 1999, I started with Barretts in January of 2000. During that time I have received extensive training on the many different aspects of the home electronics field. I received certification from the Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) in February 2002, and Runco Academy in July 2005. Both of these certifications allow me to perform professional video calibration of display devices. Furthermore, as a member of the Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association (CEDIA), much of my focus has been geared towards the study of acoustical isolation and sound control in dedicated theater rooms.

As a technology inclined guy, I’ve always loved solving problems and getting things done. After high school I decided to join the Navy and entered the submarine nuclear power program. It was aboard ship that I learned how to use systems to accomplish tasks quickly and under pressure. After my six year enlistment, I decided to attend the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. My love of music and electronics led me to a part-time job at a local hi-fi shop. After college I continued learning all aspects of the audio-video business and expanded my hobby into a full-time career there. I also earned the CEDIA Installer I certification and attended training from the Home Acoustic Alliance and Imaging Sciences Foundation. My wife and I relocated to the Chicago area and I started at Barretts as a Home Theater Specialist. Now, as Project Manager, I work to ensure that your installation goes as smoothly as possible. The only thing you need to worry about is what movie you will be watching tonight.
